Coffee and Tea Intake, Dementia Risk, and Cognitive Function
Recently, a large long-term study found that drinking two to three cups of coffee a day was linked to a much lower risk of developing dementia especially before the age of 75. For many of us, this is welcome news and an easy, everyday habit that may offer real benefits for brain health.

While coffee alone can't prevent dementia, these findings highlight how small, daily choices might support cognitive wellness over time. It's a reminder that caring for our minds can sometimes be as simple as enjoying a favorite routine.

In the study, published online Feb. 9, 2026, by JAMA, Harvard researchers evaluated dietary records of more than 131,000 people (66% women). They were followed for an average of nearly 37 years, during which 11,033 of them were diagnosed with dementia.
